Another 13-year-old was taken into custody in the April killing of 28-year-old Daoud Marji.

The intersection of University Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road in the Bronx near where police say a 28-year-old man was shot and killed on April 23, 2025.

Police have arrested a second teenager in connection with the killing of a bystander who was struck by a stray bullet as two groups fought on a Bronx street in April, NYPD officials said Thursday.

The 13-year-old boy was taken into custody Wednesday around 7 p.m. in the same police precinct where the shooting occurred on the afternoon of April 23, officials said. He is being charged with second-degree murder in addition to first-degree manslaughter and second-degree possession of a weapon.

Daoud Marji, a 28-year-old Yonkers man, died as a result of the shooting, which also injured a 33-year-old woman. Officials said both were bystanders, and that Marji and the woman were struck by gunfire that erupted during a dispute between two groups at University Avenue and West Kingsbridge Road in Kingsbridge Heights.

The teen is the second 13-year-old boy facing charges in the case. Last week, police arrested the first teen in the precinct and charged him with murder and manslaughter.

Law enforcement officials have not identified the teens because they are minors. Their attorney information was not immediately available. The Bronx district attorney's office said the first teen was arraigned in court and ordered held in jail, while the second teen's arraignment was expected to take place Thursday.

Marji’s family said he grew up in Yonkers after immigrating from Jordan, ABC7 and the New York Post reported.
