Police Seek Suspect In East Harlem Shooting Of 11-Year-Old Boy

An 11-year-old boy was shot in the left leg on Sunday afternoon in East Harlem. The boy may have been the victim of a stray bullet shooting, as police say the shooter fired multiple shots.
The boy staggered into a bodega at East 109th Street and Madison Avenue after he was shot. A worker told WCBS 2, "While I was making a sandwich, this little kid... we know him from the neighborhood... ran in saying he got shot."
According to the NYPD, the boy was in front of 1634 Madison Avenue at 3:22 p.m. "when an unidentified male fired multiple shots, one of which striking the victim in the left thigh."
The suspect fled in an unknown direction. The boy was taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.
The Daily News reported that the boy had been in front of P.S. 108, "when a gunman emerged from Central Park at E. 106th St. and Fifth Ave., headed toward the school, and started shooting just after 3:20 p.m.," according to sources.
