NYPD searches East River for missing 15-year-old girl

Police said they were searching in the area of Roosevelt Island Bridge Friday afternoon.

Police Friday were searching the East River for a 15-year old girl for several hours, after the NYPD received a call around 12:15 p.m. saying someone was in the water.
The Harbor teams and Emergency Services Unit were assisting with the search in the area of Roosevelt Island Bridge, police said.
A spokesperson for the NYPD said criminality is not suspected, but the incident is under investigation.
As of about 7 p.m., the teen had not yet been found.
