June 6, 2025, 3:17 p.m.
An officer fired their gun after the suspects drove at least one stolen car in officers' direction during a burglary in Queens, police say.

An NYPD officer opened fire at a group of suspects who were stealing cars from a Queens auto shop and drove at least one of the vehicles toward officers Friday, according to police.
Officials said they were still investigating the incident but have reported no injuries or arrests.
The officers were responding to a 911 call about a burglary involving armed men at 33rd Avenue and Miller Street in Flushing around 5:30 a.m. when the group attempted to flee in multiple cars, police said.
At least some of the suspects passed the officers and fled north on Miller Street, according to the NYPD. Others were being questioned in the incident but no charges have been announced and it is unclear if police gunfire hit any of the suspects, a spokesperson said.
NYPD data shows burglaries are up about 13% so far this year in the 109th Precinct, which includes Flushing and other North Queens neighborhoods, compared to the same period last year. The precinct had recorded 190 burglaries as of June 1, 2025.
