NYPD looking for toddler and mom missing from Brooklyn home

The pair were last seen in East Flatbush on Monday.

Police were asking the public Wednesday to look out for a mother and young daughter who went missing from their Brooklyn home this week.

NYPD officials said 20-year-old Jayla Echevarria and 3-year-old Nova Echevarria were last seen leaving their building on East 96th Street and Linden Boulevard in East Flatbush around 2 p.m. Monday.

Police said it was unclear where the pair were going and they have not previously gone missing.

Jayla Echevarria is about 5 feet 4 inches tall with black hair, according to the NYPD. She was last seen wearing a black tube top, ripped blue jeans and black sneakers.

Her daughter was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue shorts and pink shoes.

Officials are asking anyone with information about the Echevarrias to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or, for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). People can also submit tips on the Crime Stoppers website.
