Man dies in NYPD custody at Brooklyn's Central Courts Building

A man died in the NYPD's custody at the Central Courts Building in Brooklyn on Friday morning, according to police.

The 32-year-old man, who'd been charged with petit larceny, was discovered unconscious in the building around 8:25 a.m., police said. EMS responded and the man was pronounced dead, according to police.

The NYPD identified the man Friday night as Soso Ramishvili, who lived on Brooklyn's Avenue X. The department didn't release any information about what may have caused the man's death.

Police said the city medical examiner's office will determine the man's cause of death, and the investigation is ongoing.
