A man died after being struck by a train following a fight on a Brooklyn subway platform early Wednesday morning, police said.

Officers responded to a 911 call at around 2:30 a.m. about an assault in progress at the Prospect Park station on the Q and B lines, according to NYPD officials. They found the man unconscious with severe head trauma, officials said.

Police said the man, whose identity had not been released by 10 a.m. Wednesday, was struck by a southbound Q train, though it was unclear whether he had been pushed or fallen.

Officials said a person of interest remained on scene and was taken into custody, but no arrests have been announced.

Service on the B and Q lines was disrupted in Brooklyn Wednesday morning as the NYPD investigated the incident, according to the MTA.
