The 49th annual display will involve fireworks launches from the bridge and four barges on the river, according to Mayor Eric Adams' office.

Macy's July 4th fireworks display is coming back with a bang to the East River this year.
The 49th rendition of the booming pyrotechnics show will launch from the Brooklyn Bridge and four barges positioned nearby on the river, New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Wednesday.
Viewers along the river will get a front row seat in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens — a change from 2024’s show over the Hudson River.
“This year’s Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show, set against the city skyline and on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, is set to deliver an unforgettable night for millions nationwide,” Will Coss, the production’s executive director, said in a statement.
The display involves thousands of firework shells synched to music and presented alongside live performances.
Prime viewing areas, musical acts and a city lottery for watching the celebration will be announced in the coming weeks, Adams’ office and Macy’s said.
The first bursts are scheduled to light up at 8 p.m. on July 4, according to organizers. People can watch the show on NBC 4 and Peacock as well.
