Brown water everywhere.

It's one thing to have to strategically leap over a few puddles while trying to make your way home during a flash flood warning—it's quite another to find yourself knee-deep in brown water inside your bus. But that's the situation some Staten Island residents found themselves in on Wednesday, when a section of Richmond Terrace was so overrun with flooding, a lake emerged inside their bus.
Commuter Lacy Shelby took the video below from the S40 bus at Union Avenue on Staten Island at approximately 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday. "The flooding was concentrated in an approximately 4 block stretch along Richmond Terrace," she wrote. "There were other stretches of Richmond Terrace from St. George Terminal that had more moderate flooding but this section was the worst."
Check out the crazy video below. Also: watch out for the poor guy in shorts at the :15 second mark trudging his way on the sidewalk outside.

A source told The Post that the bus driver reported flooding but the bus was able to move through the area without problem, understatedly noting, "some water did enter the bus." Some water did enter the bus?! Shelby also told us not all stops were made: "The bus had to bypass the Union Avenue stop because it was under water."
ABC adds that business owners in the area say flooding often happens during rainstorms in that particular stretch of the area, and an engineering investigation will continue.
The MTA said in a statement: "This is a graphic example of the challenges our bus operators face on the road day in and day out as they work hard to get millions of New Yorkers to their destinations safely and expeditiously."
