Onetime Sopranos and Bronx Tale actor and current prison inmate Lillo Brancato Jr. may be locked up, but that doesn't mean the Post's panopticon isn't watching. Today the tabloid brings us a prison update on the latest misadventure of once drug-addled actor (who is behind bars due to his involvement in the death of an off-duty cop). And what is he up to? Oh, you know, just whaling "on a fellow inmate at an upstate prison because the con wouldn't cut short a phone call to his wife."

That actually pretty well sums up the story. Brancato apparently became furious with another inmate when he wouldn't get off the phone in the rec room at the Oneida Correctional Facility, so he beat the crap out of him (former Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress was a witness!). The violence only stopped when other inmates, including SI Beep James Molinaro's 22-year-old grandson Steven, intervened.

As punishment Brancato has been "T-blocked" for a month, which means he is stuck in his cell for 23 hours a day.

Oh, also? You'll be shocked to learn that, according to other inmates, Brancato has a mob "fetish" and has been spending the start of his 10-year prison sentence brushing up on any mafia-related book he can find. At least he's reading.
