Earthquake felt in NYC and northern NJ, USGS says

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage in the wake of Saturday night's tremor, according to NYC's emergency management agency.

Residents across New York and northern New Jersey reported feeling the tremor on Saturday night.

A small earthquake rattled parts of New York and northern New Jersey on Saturday night.

The magnitude 3 quake originated near Hasbrouck Heights in New Jersey's Bergen County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, and struck at about 10:18 p.m.

New York City's emergency management agency said there were no reports of damage or casualties in the city, and added that it was monitoring the situation.
