Cooler weather to make way for summer-like temperatures in NYC this week

It’ll get up to almost 90 degrees Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

New Yorkers will get a taste of both spring and summer this week, with temperatures expected to soar Wednesday and Thursday after a cooler start Monday and Tuesday.
According to the National Weather Service, Monday’s light rain and temperatures in the upper 60s will stick around for most of Tuesday, though highs will climb into the mid-70s.
Then, once the wet conditions clear out, summer-like weather will move in.
“ When we see a little more sunshine, that's when temperatures are going to warm up on Wednesday,” NWS meteorologist Bryan Ramsey said. ”We're looking at highs in the low- to mid-80s and maybe even getting into the upper 80s, approaching 90 on Thursday.”

Average temperatures for New York City hover around 78 degrees for this time of year, according to Ramsey.
Temperatures will cool down into the low 80s Friday, followed by more rain over the weekend as another weather system approaches, he said.
