Greenpoint is officially back on the map, sort of. A shuttle is now available to transport commuters left with severely crippled transit options after the gangway of the India Street East River Ferry terminal collapsed last Wednesday, discontinuing service to the stop "indefinitely."

A spokesperson for the ferry told us last week that the terminal would not reopen until the cause of the collapse was determined. (We reached out for comment on the findings and will update when we hear back.) He added that the piers are regularly inspected, and that the India Street ramp in particular was just inspected a week prior to the collapse. So that's disturbing.

The shuttle is free, making its first southbound departure at 6:50 a.m. and continuing every 20 minutes until 9:30 a.m. The northbound service will recommence in the evenings at 4:30 p.m. and end at 7:20 p.m. Click here for details on the exact locations at which the shuttle stops.
