A 16-year-old girl was stabbed and killed in a Bronx smoke shop Tuesday afternoon, police said as they searched for her assailant.
Aliyah Williams was at the shop on Boston Road and Mickle Avenue in Williamsbridge just before 4 p.m. when she was attacked after an altercation, according to NYPD officials. She was just two blocks from her home, police said.
First responders found her with multiple stab wounds to her head and body. They took her to Jacobi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Officials said the suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants. Police said they were still investigating whether Williams knew the suspect.
Blood spatters were visible on the ground outside the shop Wednesday morning. A worker inside the business declined to comment.
