Farewell to Reggie Miller, the Knicks Killer

While the Knicks lost last night's game by 18 points, they wake up with a real sense of relief this morning. Reggie Miller, the skinny, gawky perennial clutch shooter for the Indiana Pacers, has played his final game at MSG. While Reggie had a rough shooting night (13 points), teammate and fan-puncher Stephen Jackson picked up the slack with 33 points to lead Indiana to a win.
Miller was booed during introductions, but the crowd eventually grew sentimental, with chants for "Reggie! Reggie!" in the 4th quarter. After the game, Reggie Miller hugged Spike Lee, bringing back the crazy memories of his 8 points in 9 seconds job back in 1995 on national television, and his "choke" signals to Lee throughout his Garden career. Miller retires without a championship ring, but did play in the NBA Finals in 2000 against the 1st Shaq/Kobe Lakers championship squad.
More on Miller's farewell at the NY Times and NY Post.
In other NBA developments: The Nets are still hanging in the East's 9 spot after beating the Cavs by 31, and the LA Lakers are now officially eliminated from contention (which is the best thing ever).
