In this city, restaurants come and go faster than you can say "sustainable locavore burger." And even though there are great new additions to the culinary landscape popping up every week, you've gotta give kudos to anyone who can stick it out for over a year. With that in mind, we bring you Still Got It, our tribute to establishments that continue to serve mouthwatering meals and drinks long after the buzz has faded—or if the lingering hype is still justified.

Tacos are no joke in New York, no matter how much the West Coast taunts us with their fresh avocados, that saucy wench. And at La Superior, a South Williamsburg hole-in-the-wall that blessed us with its Mexican dishes in 2008, tacos are taken seriously, served fresh, hot and feisty. Just as they should be. Not to mention the fact that one margarita here will do you in for a week, but we'll get to that in a minute.

La Superior's tacos are modest, but they pack enough of a punch that two will suffice if supplemented with, say, a quesadilla. Start by ordering a basket of fresh, piping hot tortilla chips ($4) with cups of mild, medium and spicy salsa on the side. Then, hit up the $2.50 tacos—the fiery carnitas tacos are particularly good, as are the camarón al chipotle (tiny sautéed shrimps doused in chipotle sauce), the chorizo toluqueño (chorizo, poblano and serrano peppers) and the $3.50 taco lengua, which is made with beef tongue, but don't let that scare you off.

There aren't a wealth of filling vegetarian options here—the roasted poblano pepper strip rajas tacos are tasty, and the aforementioned quesadillas ($3.50) come stuffed with cheese and can be made without meat. But this place is for the carnivores, so if you stay away from animal skin, maybe skip it or eat a snack beforehand.

Back to the margaritas—these babies pack a punch. Which, at $12-a-pop for a full size drink, is good news for drinkers. They are also delicious, served unfrozen with a skim of salt on the top; you can opt for a regular margarita or a flavored one (spicy guava, yes please), drink and feast.

Do note that La Superior is cash only, and the space is stripped down, cramped and gets crowded quickly. Come early or expect a wait.

La Superior is located at 295 Berry Street between South 2nd and 3rd Streets in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (718-388-5988, lasuperiornyc.com).
