Honeygrow Bringing The Bowls (Of Stir-Fry) To Brooklyn Heights
April 3, 2017, 1:55 p.m.
The Philly-born transplant does customizable stir-fry, salads and juices.
It's bowls, beautiful bowls and they're coming to Brooklyn Heights today with the opening of honeygrow's first NYC outpost. The Philly transplant does a stir-fry/salad/juice concept in a fast-casual setting that uses digital ordering for the custom meals. Did we miss any buzzwords there? Oh! "Local and seasonal ingredients." Obviously.
Customers can create their own stir-fry or salad from a bounty of proteins, noodles, sauces and other additions. Or pick one of their already tested combinations like the NYC regional NY Pastrami stir-fry with egg white noodles, mustard-rye broth, pastrami, sauerkraut, green beans, bell peppers, red onions and pickled cucumber or the Vegan Kale salad with mustard soy vinaigrette, green kale, organic roasted spicy tofu, apples, carrots, roasted beets, red onions and radishes.
An insider tells Gothamist the must-order is the "honeybar," a customizable fruit and honey bowl that could be a decadent "breakfast" or a virtuous dessert. It comes with a choice of three fruits and one honey (wildflower, buckwheat or clover), plus two toppings like coconut flakes or granola and the option to add whipped cream or plain yogurt.
194 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn Heights, (347) 422-0714; honeygrow.com. Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
