This week's events cover a lot of ground, from northern Italy to Tuscany.

Italienne, a French and Italian restaurant in Flatiron, is kicking off a series of regionally-inspired dinners on Monday with a meal modeled after the cuisine of Alto Adige, a small region in northern Italy near Switzerland and Austria. The three-course meal costs $70 per person, and dishes include Schlachplatte (smoked pork loin with sausage), Minestra d’Orzo (barley soup), Canederli (bread and cabbage dumplings), and Apple Streudel.

If you haven't gotten your fix of New Year celebrations yet, the French Institute is having a Galette des Rois Celebration on Thursday, complete with a king cake from Financier Pastisserie, cider, and a buffet of savory snacks by Le District. If you find the féve—a small ceramic charm—in your slice, you get crowned king or queen for the day! You can also enter a raffle to win two tickets to Gad Elmaleh's stand-up comedy performance at Carnegie Hall in February. Purchase tickets ($35) here.

On Friday, Feast on History is leading a walking tour of Arthur Avenue, the Bronx's own little Italy. They'll be visiting a dozen butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers before hitting up the Arthur Avenue Retail Market, which includes more than 20 local merchants. You can expect to try cheese from Calandra's, cookies from Egidio's, and salume from the Calabria Pork Store before stopping at the market for any other snacks you may have missed. Purchase tickets ($65) here.

Also on Friday, The Tuscan Gun in Windsor Terrace is hosting a dinner inspired by a different part of Italy: Isola d'Elba. The five-course, seafood-heavy menu—prepared by Gabriele Corcos and Riccardo Mazzei—includes a seared tuna salad, pasta with octopus, orange and fennel salad, Florentine-style cod, and a pear cake for dessert. If you can't make it on Friday, they're having two other seatings in the coming weeks. If you can make it, hurry up, because tickets ($100 - $150) are going fast.
