Aug. 17, 2016, 4:52 p.m.

Here's your big chance to see what the animals get up to at night at the Bronx Zoo. Maybe they walk and talk like people?

Just imagine, you, your special lady, and the shrieks of caged animals all night long.

Just imagine, you, your special lady, and the shrieks of caged animals all night long.

When you were a child and you misbehaved, you mother may have threatened to ship you off to the zoo to go live with the monkeys. Well for one night only, your mother can get her wish, because just like the American Museum of Natural History, the Bronx Zoo is doing a one-night only adult sleepover this fall.

If you're over the age of 21 and have $350 (or $315 if you're a member) to spare, you can spend a night camping in the zoo's Astor Court. The sleepover lasts from lasts from 6 p.m. Friday, October 14th to 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 15th. In addition to a night at the zoo and a chance to find out if the animals really escape their cages and run wild, your admission comes with:

  • Delicious dinner food stations, late-night snacks, hot breakfast and adult beverages (wine and beer)
  • DJ & Lounge
  • Up-close animal encounters
  • Access to select exhibits & Boo at the Zoo experiences
  • After-dark shuttle rides and night walk
  • Keeper chats
  • Instagram scavenger hunt
  • Souvenir mug and photo

The price includes a tent rental (and gives you the option to rent a sleeping bag), but according to the F.A.Q. you'll have to bring any other camping gear you'd want to have around like a sleeping pad, flashlight, toiletries and bug spray. Leave the booze at home though, because if they catch you with it, you'll get the boot.

You can be in a tent with as many as 4 people, so if you're going with friends, just make sure to mention them when you register so you can spend the night together/near each other. And watch out for gorillas rising up against humanity, like that documentary Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
