Get two-for-one tickets at cultural events across the city.

January in New York is bad for business – with fewer tourists in the city and more locals opting to stay home rather than brave the elements. But for those willing to get off the couch, it’s a prime time for discounts.
In order to combat the holiday hangover and dreary weather, NYC’s tourism bureau kicks into full gear during the dead of winter with a slew of coordinated bargains on theater (Broadway Week), dining (Restaurant Week), lodging (Hotel Week) and perhaps the most overlooked set of temporary deals, Must-See Week, which offers two-for-one tickets at a variety of participating museums, shows and attractions across the five boroughs.
It was first introduced by the city in 2017 and this year it’s actually longer than a week – it goes from Jan. 21 to Feb. 9 — so, 19 days, or almost three weeks. Guests are limited to four tickets total per attraction during Must-See Week.
To take advantage of the deal, just use the promotional code MSW25 when buying tickets on a participating business’ website.
Here are a few standout options from this year’s offerings.

See the new show from the producers of “Sleep No More”
From the producers of the freshly closed “Sleep No More,” Life and Trust is another immense theatrical experience. It takes place across a 100,000-square-foot space in the bowels of the Financial District and is set in 1929, on the eve of Black Thursday. Tickets start at $140.50.

See a show at Carnegie Hall
How do you get to Carnegie Hall during Must-See-Week? You buy tickets online (or on the phone or in person) to one of the three shows at which the bargain applies. Those shows would be Orchestra of St. Luke’s on Jan. 23; Bruce Liu on Jan. 24 and International Contemporary Ensemble on Jan. 30. Tickets start at $24.50, $37 and $50 respectively.

Enjoy a mini meditation retreat
The Kadampa Meditation Center New York City has had a few incarnations over the last 30 years, but has consistently offered New Yorkers a space to meditate and learn Buddhist teachings. Today it is located at 127 West 24th St. in Chelsea and offers more than 20 classes a week in guided meditation and Dharma teachings. The Must-See-Week deal is good for a Saturday retreat, 30-minute meditation, Saturday course or general program class, which usually cost $5 to $25 per person.

Go to a Brooklyn Nets game
Since 2012, Brooklyn’s basketball team (and the Borough’s only big-league sports team since the Brooklyn Dodgers went west in 1957) has been based at the Barclays Center. Depending on the game, tickets start at as low as $25.
Go fishing in the middle of the city
Find a little nature in the city with this all levels catch-and-release experience at Central Park Fishing. The fishing lessons have only six spots per outing and include snacks and drinks, fishing rod, reel, tackle, bait and lessons. Tickets are $95.
