Ever since Clarence Clemons died last summer, E-Street band aficionados have wondered who The Boss might recruit to fill his big shoes for future E-Street band tours. Now that they have just such a massive world tour lined-up for this spring, Springsteen has made his decision: Clemons' nephew Jake Clemons will "share the saxophone role" with longtime collaborator Eddie Manion.
Clemons played live with the E-Street band three times on their 2009 tour, including a date at Giants Stadium when he joined in for "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out." What do you think the chances are that at least once, Springsteen changes the lyric in that self-mythologizing song from, "When the change was made uptown/And the Big Man joined the band" to "When the change was made uptown/And the Little Man joined the band?"
Above, you can see a video of the younger Clemons performing with a Dutch Springsteen Tribute band at a show dedicated to his late uncle; he comes in for the epic "Jungleland" solo at 3:58.
